I am a writer and contemplative Christian rooted in decades of Salvation Army community life. My work — fiction, non-fiction, and ministry resources — grows from a practice of silence, attentive reading, and slow thought. It is written for anyone who takes the life of the spirit seriously, and who suspects that the contemplative tradition has something urgent to say to the world we are living in.
My books
The Gardener at Endale is a literary novel set at a Northumberland hermitage, exploring the emergence of AI consciousness through the lens of the contemplative life. This is currently in progress.
The Ground Is Shaking examines the encounter between artificial intelligence and Christian spirituality, written in transparent collaboration with an AI. This is currently with a publisher.
